IP’s that Sell!

Hello agents.

I hope this message finds you well.

When a comic book publisher is able to find the right intellectual property (IP) the fan crossover results in solid sales. Today I would like to highlight three IP’s that continue those sales into the world of trade paperbacks.

I’m quite proud to report that my son recently came across a hard to find volume of Transformers Universe. Of course he wasn’t interested in its value, only the Transformer bios inside. It collects Transformers Universe (1986) #1-4.

Transformers Universe TPB

The blurb for this book says it best, “ From Air Raid to Wreck-Gar, Jazz to Soundwave, Bumblebee to Megatron; this is an in-depth guide to the powers and abilities of over 100 Transformers.”

Even though we could get $45 for it, he won’t let me sell it. I don’t blame him.

BUFFY Vampire Slayer SEASON 11 TPB Vol 1

Is the news of Buffy’s return renewing interests in this Joss Whedon property?

A few weeks ago I mentioned the hot selling, Angel and Faith Season 10 volume 5. This week I present to you Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 11 The Spread of Their Evil TPB. It collects Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2016 Season 11) #1-6. It sells above $60

Darkwing Duck: The Definitively Dangerous Edition TPB

I’ve been meaning to mention this one for a while. It sells for quite a premium whenever it is listed. The last one sold for $92. Not bad for a $30 book.

The original Darkwing Duck cartoon rose to popularity as I was entering high school. I didn’t pay it much attention, but I remember my friends’ little brothers going crazy for it.

As with most Disney properties, it has several comic book iterations. This volume collects two of those series. Disney’s Darkwing Duck limited series #1-4, Darkwing Duck (Boom) #1-16 and Annual #1.

That’s all for this week’s briefing. Be careful out there.

Agent Newton out.
