Release Day Run Down 3-13

Here at ComicBookInvest.Com we aim to give our readers the tools to buy what they like, speculate on what they want, and be informed of trends going on in the secondary market.  To further our efforts to give #CBSINation the tools to succeed on New Comic Book Day, I present to you, The CBSI Release Day Rundown. In this feature, we will let you know of all major releases on NCBD, highlight trades hitting shelves, and keep you up to date on what later printings are hitting the market this week.  This is a tool for CBSI readers to use to buy what YOU like, YOU make the choice. So happy NCBD and remember at CBSI #WeOwnWednesdays !

The Trade Report

Since we were in a transition week last week and we did not have a trade report on the Bolo list AND because there are so few trades releasing this week, The Trade Report will cover the last 2 weeks releases (3/6 & 3/13)

Avengers By Jason Aaron Vol 3 TP– This trade comes in two covers one for the book market (books stores) and one for the direct market (comic shops).  This Avengers run has been cool and alot of people are excited to see where Aaron is taking it. If you checked out volume 1 then you will be all over Volume 2. $16.99

Defenders Best Defense TP– This trade collects the Defenders one shots including one from the scorching hot Immortal Hulk. $29.99

X Men Black TP– If you were like me and thought the J Scott covers were cool but did not read the One shots, then this book is up your alley.  All the X Men Black One shots are collected giving you a glimpse into the world of X Villains. $17.99

X Men Red Vol 2 TP X Men Red continues in this continuation from Vol 1.  If your grabbing X Men black and feel the need to balance that villainy with some good ole X Men badassery then pick up Volume 2 of X Men Red at your LCS. $17.99

War of Realms Prelude TP– Want to read war of Realms but don’t feel ready? Marvel and Jason Aaron have you covered with this prelude trade paperback to the event of 2019 for Marvel $34.99

Earth X Omnibus– When Donny Cates Vox debuted, renewed attention was paid to the Earth X series from Alex Ross.  If you ever wanted to get caught up in a major way, this is your chance! $100

Batman and Harley Quinn TP– DC drops their Digital first Harley Quinn serieses in print form this week in this trade paperback.  Featured are the digital first series Batman and Harley Quinn #1-7 and Harley Quinn and Batman #1-5. This book drops just in time to get read up on some animated Harley before the release of the DC Animated series on the DC Universe App. $14.99

Detective Comics 80 Years of Batman Deluxe Edition– DC drops this compilation of reprint stories ahead of the release of Tec 1000.  $29.99

Justice League Dark 2018  Vol 1 TP– Featuring the debut of the creepy Upside Down Man, James Tynion IV JLD has been well received.  If you slept on it, now is the chance to get caught up. $16.99

Promethea 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Book 1 HC– It wasn’t to long ago it seemed like Promethea mania was sweeping speculators as Promethea entered the DC Universe continuity in 2018.  If you were like me and unfamiliar with the Alan Moore series, now is your chance to jump in. $49.99

Batman and Deathstroke HC– This book collects the Deathstroke VS. Batman storyline that played out in the Deathstroke series.  Most speculators are familiar with the breathtaking Mattina covers that adorned this series, but may have not had the chance to read it.  $24.99

Polar Vol 0 – The popular digital series that spawned the Netflix Movie is in print for the first time courtesy of Dark Horse Comics.  So if you are not a digital reader but were interested in checking it out, now is your shot! 17.99

Curse Words Vol 4 TP– Volume four of the hit Image series collects issues #26-30 plus the Summer Swimsuit Special $16.99

Walking Dead Vol 31– Walking Dead is 31 volumes deep and still going! This indie series is reaching iconic heights. $16.99

Wicked + The Divine Vol 8 TP– The Image series is a cult favorite and I always see fans grabbing up trades at Cons.  I also think it helps that both Gillen and Hans stars are on the rise in the industry. $17.99

Night Witches TP– You may be a big Garth Ennis fan and still not aware that this released from Dead Reckoning. This is why we wanted to bring this feature to CBSI Nation. $24.99

WWE Sami & Kevin Show GN– Collecting the stories from the WWE Boom Series featuring WWE’s Odd couple best friends Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.  These two kept Raw entertaining during some of the leanest times in WWE history with their antics and I have no doubt the madness will continue in graphic novel form. $16.99

Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons and Dragons TP– Im not sure if people actually read this series or just bought the variants but if you didn’t and are a D&D or Rick and Morty fan now is your chance as last week brought the release of the trade collecting the IDW/ Oni Press Crossover. $24.99

Oblivion Song Vol 2– Robert Kirkman’s latest epic sees its volume 2 hit stores.  This series seems destined for the Amazon Platform in some form in the future. $16.99

Vampironica Vol 1 TP Riverdale! Sabrina! Let’s face it Archie is hot right now and especially the dark universe.  $17.99

Better Late (Printings) Than Never

*in no particular order

TMNT Shredder In Hell #1 2nd (IDW) The Popular TMNT spin off goes to a second print. While covers are still available of the first print at many retailers, the second print sees a cover art change and could have long term popularity with TMNT fans.  Also if stores still had first prints in stock, they would be unlikely to order too many of the 2nd printing.

Die #2 3rd & #3 2nd (Image)– The fast emerging Image Comics series is doing some serious damage on the secondary market with first printings of issue #2 and #3 hitting $12-18 regularly.  Issue #2 features a first appearance that could be important if and when the book is adapted. Readers and speculators alike are eating this series up.

Middlewest #2 3rd (Image)– This is another Image series that seems to be one the move.  While we haven’t seen a huge boom on the secondary market, Issue #1 and #2 have both gone to third printings.

Avengers No Road Home #1 2nd (Marvel)– The popular mini series has readers intrigued.  Al Ewing is on a role with Immortal Hulk and this series.  First prints seem readily available so not sure there will be much if any demand here.

Conan #3 2nd (Marvel)– this is a sleeper book.  Here we see a popular series amongst readers get a cool cover art change.  The art work on this one reminds me of the kind of head sketches you see artist doing at conventions.  While simple, the style is very unique for a variant cover. The all white cover will make a difficult 9.8 and this book could see secondary market heat down the road.

Immortal Hulk #13 2nd (Marvel)– Continuing the trend of Immortal Hulk multi printings this week is issue #13.  While this is not a substantial book by any means, readers have proven they want anything and everything Immortal Hulk.  Expect this to be a tougher find on release day.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer #1 3rd (Boom!)– Boom! Studios appears to have found success with their Buffy relaunch dropping a third printing to Issue #1 today.  The first print has seen little demand and even incentives are off ratio. This is a reader only type situation or for the die hard Buffy fan.
