The Weekend After Wednesday for 10/27/18

Want to know which books from Wednesday’s new deliveries are already heating up and which ones are cooling? Here’s a “Weekend After” list that we hope will help! This isn’t a reflection on the quality, collectability or long-term potential of recently released books. This is based on today’s market price for books that came out on Wednesday, 9/24/18. They could still be at your shop.

BATGIRL #28 MIDDLETON “B” VARIANT (DC) – The “Alicia Silverstone” Batgirl B variant continues to show off Middleton’s range.  This market is clearly noting their favorite covers by spending extra $ for the ones they like.  This is one of them.  It’s currently selling for $12 to $15 shipped.

DEAD KINGS #1 (AFTERSHOCK) Dead Kings is doing pretty well.  Both the standard A cover and the B variant are each selling for $12 to $14 shipped.

JUDGE DREDD TOXIC #1 (IDW) – While this is not quite catching the heat that Final Judgement had a couple of weeks ago, this is still selling for $12 shipped.

REJECTED ONE SHOT 2ND PRINTJust when you think THE REJECTED is done, this 2nd print comes out and kick starts interest again.   The 2nd print is selling for $40 to $50 while the 1st print is seeing the same sales.

RETURN OF WOLVERINE #1 2ND PRINT (MARVEL) – I love error books and this one is selling for $20.  Several of the interior pages were replaced with pages from DOCTOR APHRA #25

SPIDER-GIRLS #1 (OF 3) DEKAL 1:50 VARIANT (MARVEL) – This is such a great cover and the market agrees.  It’s selling for $65 shipped.

SPIDER-GWEN GHOST SPIDER #1 IN-HYUK LEE 1:100 VARIANT (MARVEL) I absolutely love this cover and it was impossible to find.  Even market wise, there aren’t many copies listed.  The last two copies sold for $250.  There are two auctions up right now, with one at $345 and another at $370.  CRAZY!

WONDER WOMAN #57 FRISON “B” VARIANT (DC)– This awesome (yet creepy) Frison variant is selling for $11.

LIFE OF CAPTAIN MARVEL #4 (OF 5) 1:25 BARTEL VARIANT (MARVEL) – This 1:25 was tough to find last week.  It’s mostly stayed around the $60 price tag of last week.  It’s been selling for about $53 to $60 shipped.

OGRE #1 (OF 3) (SOURCE POINT) – Here’s another holdover from last week.  This is selling for $15 shipped.  Black Cape Comics has a virgin variant limited to 100 copies coming soon… that should get interesting.

SOURCE #1 (SCOUT) – This sold really well last week and continues to do so this week as well.  About 78 copies of the regular cover sold since last Wednesday.  The standard is selling for $13.  The glow in the dark variant sells for $25 (which is rough for those who bought copies for $25 on Scout’s website).  The 1:10 is the hardest to find and sells for $35 (though there’s one listed for $20).  The ashcan sells for $20.

THE MALL #2 (SCOUT) – The Mall #2 regular cover sells for about $9 shipped.  The Scarface 1:10 variant has only sold one solo copy @ $15 shipped, though sellers are still holding out for $40/$50.

UNSTOPPABLE WASP #1 1:50 PUTRI VARIANT (MARVEL) – As noted by Stein in the Top 10, this is selling for $100 to $113.

VENOM ANNUAL #1 SIENKIEWICZ VARIANT (MARVEL) – Prices are all over the place for this.  Some sales are around cover price and others are hitting $15 shipped.  What’s really interesting is that many international copies are selling for $40 to $50 (specifically in Australia).

ETERNITY #1 MASSAFERA 1:40 VARIANT (VALIANT)This 1:40 variant Felipe Massafera was selling for $100 last year and is STILL selling for $100 one year later.  A 9.9 sold for $662.  That’s a pretty solid hold.

LODGER #1 SIENKIEWICZ 1:10 VARIANT (IDW) While this isn’t the best Sienkiewicz, it’s still selling decently around $18 shipped.

MOON KNIGHT #200 (MARVEL) – While the Knowlan 1:50 variant is selling under ratio @ $40, the Tan 1:25 is selling at ratio at $25/$30 shipped.  The Skan IGC store variant is selling for $50 to $60.

X-MEN BLACK JUGGERNAUT #1 1:100 VIRGIN CAMPBELL VARIANT (MARVEL) – The last copy sold for $125 shipped, yet that was 3 days ago and it’s had no sales since.
