The Weekend After Wednesday for 11/17/18

Want to know which books from Wednesday’s new deliveries are already heating up and which ones are cooling? Here’s a “Weekend After” list that we hope will help! This isn’t a reflection on the quality, collectability or long term potential of recently released books. This is based on today’s market price for books that came out on Wednesday, 11/14/18. They could still be at your shop.

BLACK ORDER #1 (OF 5) IN-HYUK LEE 1:50 VARIANT (MARVEL) – There was a lot of interest on this book before release, but wow… it sure shot up fast.  It’s had one big sale at $225, though copies are mostly available at $180.

DOMINO #8 (MARVEL) – This is an awesome cover.  It’s selling for $10 shipped.

FRIENDO #1 2ND PRINT (VAULT) – This Daredevil #184 homage is selling for $15.

LIFE IS STRANGE #1 (TITAN) – All 5 covers have seen some price bumps.  However, the best market performers are the main cover @ $15 and the B variant @ $14.  Covers C, D & E sell for about $10 each shipped.

PUNCHLINE #1 (ANTARCTIC PRESS) – Prices have dipped.  The standard dropped from $35 to $25 shipped.  The road trip variant has gone up from $40 to multiple prices ranging from $50 to $80.  The Virgin Variant is selling for $150 with VF copies selling for $100.

RAGS #2 (ANTARCTIC PRESS) – This second issue has gone up a bit to $45 shipped, while the Silver variant is still selling for $40/$45. An Antarctic Press virgin variant hit the market and sold for $215.  These sold out super fast last week.  In other RAGS news, the creators surprisingly made the #1 & #2 self-published copies available at as print on demand, which means there’s no limit to how many copies can be ordered or printed.  People have speculated that killing the market value for these could overall hurt the book, diminish collect-ability and potentially losing fans/future sales.  However, while this did greatly hurt the sales of the original #1 & #2 self-published copies, RAGS still seems to be going strong.  The other side of the debate is that fans can actually pick up and read the first two issues now for the low price of $10 (plus shipping), thereby picking up new readers.  The #2 uncensored Bounty Hunter Patreon variant is selling for $332 and the #1 uncensored Tim Lim Patreon variant is currently in an auction at $822, ending on Sunday.  It will be interesting to see what happens with this book over the next few weeks.

ROAD OF THE DEAD HIGHWAY TO HELL #1 (IDW) – Cover A & B have tanked, falling down to cover price.  However, the 1:10 variant has seen sales ranging from $50 to the most recent $36.

STAR WARS HAN SOLO IMPERIAL CADET #1 (OF 5) (MARVEL) – This has bounced back up from $50 last week to $80 shipped.

TRANSFORMERS LOST LIGHT #25 1:10 RI MILNE VARIANT (IDW) – Selling for $25 last week and now at $40.  There’s only one copy listed.

WWE #22 1:15 IRON SHEIK RAHZZAH VARIANT (BOOM) This jumped from $27 to its current $61 shipped. There are 3 copies currently available for $70.

Nada – This time last year saw a very quiet week.

BITTER ROOT #1 (IMAGE) – The virgin cover is doing well @ $15 shipped.  The other covers are selling for over.

BLOODSHOT RISING SPIRIT #1 1:250 GLASS VARIANT (VALIANT) – While selling below ratio @ $230, this 1 in 250 first glass variant is actually pretty cool.  I kind of want one just for the novelty.

FIREFLY #1 (BOOM!) – This Sienkiewicz 1:100 variant is selling almost at ratio @ $94.  It could have legs as Sienkiewicz has a large and loyal fan group.
