The Weekend After Wednesday for 4/1/18 (late edition)

Want to know which books from Wednesday’s new deliveries are already heating up and which ones are cooling? Here’s a “Weekend After” (late edition) list that we hope will help! This isn’t a reflection on the quality, collectability or long term potential of recently released books. This is based on today’s market price for books that came out on Wednesday, 3/28/18. They could still be at your shop.

HOT

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #25 (BOOM) –Wow, Power Rangers are bringing the heat this week.  I completely missed out on these.  They all seem to be selling really well.  I don’t recommend holding these though.  Don’t be caught holding copies, Power Ranger books all seem to fall hard.  Here’s the current market rundown:

Wondercon: $130

1:25 Chase:  $75

Green Ranger: $55

Red Ranger: $30

Sealed blind bag:  $20

Black Ranger: $20

Blue Ranger: $15

Pink Ranger: $10

Ramos Unlocked: $10

Yellow Ranger: $8

Subscription: $8

MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR #29 (MARVEL)– Well, this book disappeared quickly this week.  It’s been hovering at a steady $10-$14 shipped.  I’m not sure exactly why this is commanding a higher price.  Ebay sellers are listing this as the “New Fantastic Four”.  However, with the recent FF news, we know that’s not true (not to mention that this “team” has already been working together in previous issues).  It could just simply be hard to find due to the super low print run.

SHADOWMAN (2018) #1 GLOW IN THE DARK 1:250 VARIANT– Wow, a 1:250 incentive is a big ask for most retailers.  That is exactly why this book is hot right now.  It’s easily selling for $300+ (hit $365 on Thursday).  I’m actually surprised that it’s ONLY $300, especially when 1:50’s can sometimes hit that.  And let’s be honest, glow in the dark stuff is awesome.  This should be a fun book to watch.

WARM

JOHNNY BLAZE: GHOST RIDER #1 AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. VARIANT (MARVEL) – I’m a little surprised by this one.  AOS covers have historically performed terrible on the after market.  This one is actually okay at $10 shipped.  But don’t rush out quite yet to pick one up.  There are a lot listed and they’re just sitting.  Hence, why it’s warm.

SAGA #50 (IMAGE)– The  “Artist Appreciation” virgin variant is doing decently at about $7-10 shipped, which is cover price to double cover price.  It keeps flip-flopping between those two price points.  This is a pretty monumental issue for Saga, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a convention variant at some point for this particular issue.

COOL

ADVENTURE TIME BMO BONANZA #1 (BOOM)

BATTLECATS #1 (OF 5) (MAD CACE) – Battlecats Hoooooooooo!

BREATHLESS #1 (BLACK MASK)

CAVEWOMAN BATTLE ANKHAS BROOD #1 (AMRYL)

CROW MEMENTO MORI #1 (IDW)– It’s great to see The Crow back! However, I’m a little disappointed with these covers.

CYBER FORCE #1 (IMAGE)

DAREDEVIL #600 (MARVEL)– The 1:50 Alex Ross variant is selling for $40 shipped.  For comparison, the easier to obtain standard Granov store variant (limited to 3000 copies) sells for $49.  I don’t know exactly why Ross’s demand is relatively low.  He’s clearly amazing and has a long list of some of the most iconic modern covers.  Maybe it feels too similar or just too “realistic”…. I’m not sure.  With that said, it really goes to show you how Marvel is doing something wrong with creating a variant that everyone HAS to have.  I’m generally not a fan of store variants, specifically due to all the various trade dressings, but they definitely blow the retailer incentives out of the water in terms of awesome art.

DARK NIGHTS METAL #6 (DC) – Nothing’s really selling for over cover.  The store variants are stealing all the heat.

FACTORY #1 (TITAN)

GI JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #250 (IDW)– The Kirkman store variants look awesome.

GOTHAM CITY GARAGE #12 (DC)– I was really hoping for an awesome cover for this last issue.  This one was a bit disappointing.

KISS: ARMY OF DARKNESS #2 MONTES VIRGIN VARIANT (DYNAMITE) – Selling at ratio.

MOTHER PANIC GOTHAM A D #1  (DC)

PEEK A BOO #1 (OF 5) (ZENESCOPE)– With a Zenescope book titled PEEK A BOO, your mind easily goes straight to the gutter.   However, it appears this is a legit horror book.

PUSSYCATS END OF EVERYTHING #1 (E-COMIX)

SHEENA #7 (DYNAMITE)– The Dan Parent virgin variant is fun (I love his Die Kitty Die covers).

SINK #5 (OF 5) (COMIX TRIBE)– Sink started strong and continued to show solid sales throughout the past 4 issues.  Now that we’re at the end, it all seems to be coming down in price.

STABBITY BUNNY #3 (SCOUT)– Stabbity #3 is selling okay.  This 3rdissue did see some prices for $10 shipped.  However, cheaper copies are available under cover price.

TRUE BELIEVERS VENOM HOMECOMING #1 & AGENT OF VENOM (MARVEL)– $1

WORLDS FINITE CEREBUS #1 (OF 1) (AARDVARK VANAHEIM)
