Trade Secrets #28

Hello my fellow agents.

Agent newton here with the latest from the field.

I haven’t found much these last two weeks. I came across the TPB below, but it’s front cover had a one inch rip.

Spider-Man Maximum Carnage TPB First Printing 1994

Spider-man Maximum Carnage was one of those story arcs that nearly broke me back in the 90’s. This collection contains Amazing Spider-Man #378-380, Spectacular Spider-Man #201-203, Spider-Man  #35-37, Spider-Man Unlimited #1-2, and Web of Spider-Man  #101-103.

A first print in great condition can sell for up to $40.

Swamp Thing TPB 2nd Series Collections VOL 7

Swampy may not be getting love on the streaming side of things, but this trade sold recently for $70. It looks like a classic tale of an underprinted TPB. Swamp Thing has a loyal following. I’m willing to bet this volume will continue to see strong sells.

Swamp Thing Regenesis collects Swamp Thing (1982-96 2nd Series) #65-70.

Lobster Johnson Vol 3: Satan Smells a Rat TPB

Here is one that surprised me. I don’t know much about Hellboy, Lobster Johnson, and the B.P.R.D. I do know that volume 3 of this trade sold for $99. There are a couple of other copies on Ebay price about the same. Keep an eye on this one and see what happens.

This book collects Lobster Johnson: The Prayer of Neferu, Caput Mortuum, Satan Smells A Rat, A Scent of Lotus #1-2, and “Tony Masso’s Finest Hour” from Dark Horse Presents (2nd Series) #9.

Last but certainly not least. I give you (once again) JLA/Avengers!

I know you are thinking, seriously? Give it up already.  But we have a full fledged PRICE ALERT!

This week saw a $170 sale of a NM first print JLA/Avengers TPB. Not from some random guy selling in his underwear, but from the Mycomicshop ebay store. This sale is legit. Collectors are paying good money for this story. The second and third prints sell as well. Keep your eyes open for this one. I’ve found it twice in used books stores.

JLA/Avengers TPB (DC/Marvel)

Here’s something new. A little trivia: Issues #1 and #3 were published as JLA/Avengers by Marvel, while Issues #2 and #4 were published as Avengers/JLA by DC.

That’s all for this week agents. You are dismissed. Be careful out there.

Agent Newton out.
