Variant Heat Check for 1/24/18

Spider-man #1 Platinum Variant

With an estimated print run of around 10K, this Spider-man variant isn’t that rare but doesn’t come up for sale very often. A recent raw copy went for $275, while a 9.8 double signed (Stan/Todd) went for $1500. Watch out for that all black back cover!

Deadpool #1 Nauck Hastings Variant

There have been a lot of Trump cover lately, but this is probably the oldest (don’t quote me on that!) and the most expensive. The Deadpool 8-bit Hastings variant has fallen off quite a bit, but this one has only picked up steam.

Star Wars Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #1 Diamond Retailers Summit Variant

The Son of Dathomir TPB used to sell for good money until Marvel watered it down by selling a reprint. The single issue sets still go for good money, but this cover has risen to the top and has become very hard to find. A set of 1-4 with this cover sold for $175, which would value this book at over $100.

Thunderbolts #20 Cook Variant

I wanted to pay tribute to my cat, Anakin, who recently passed away, with my favorite cat variant cover. RIP buddy, you will be missed!

Note: Variants appearing in the Top 10 will not appear on this list due to contractual obligations.
