Variant Heat Check for 12/12/17
Star Wars The Force Awakens #1 1:100 Quesada VariantHEAT CHECK STATUS: The Last Jedi opens this week, and everyone I know is waiting in anticipation. This is the first appearance of Rey in the comics, and it will be interesting to see where the character goes from here. A 9.8 sold for $600 while a raw saw some good bidding but only cleared $150. |

Detective Comics #27 1:50 Lee VariantHEAT CHECK STATUS: The Fabok variant was mentioned in Topher’s True Firsts article, but I prefer the Jim Lee variant for obvious reasons. Great cover art with raws that rarely come to market, the price is being organically driven up with several sales ranging between $70-90. I have no doubt this will become a $100+ raw book. |

Happy #1 Morrison con VariantHEAT CHECK STATUS: Speculators were really happy when the show finally aired on Syfy, as this book shot up from $20 to $70. The show is getting a lot of media coverage for a SyFy project and actually drew 1.1 million total viewers. I’m not sure if this has legs, but I would sell while the going is good. |
Note: Variants appearing in the Top 10 will not appear on this list due to contractual obligations.
