Visit to Illustration House and Interview with Zaddick Longenbach

Welcome back all, today I’m pleased to present my October visits to Illustration House and interview with gallerist/collector Zaddick Longenbach!

Illustration House

Located in New York City, Illustration House is a venerable gallery founded in 1974 that offers original illustration artwork for sale, hosts exhibitions, and holds auctions of fine illustrative paintings and drawings. Some of these auctions have set price records for a variety of artists, including Norman Rockwell, J.C. Leyendecker, N.C. Wyeth and Dr. Seuss.

Manhattan Comic Art Collectors Gathering 2017 and

New York City Comic Art Expo 2018

OA collectors Dan Pottick and Zaddick Longenbach jointly hosted an evening gathering at Illustration House the night before NYCC 2017. Attendees were able to share and discuss art, and buying/selling/trading was encouraged, with wall space available for framed pieces. It was a rollicking good time, with over 30 collectors from as far as the UK, France and Singapore in attendance. I highly recommend comics fans try to attend these gatherings, as they’re a wonderful opportunity to make friends, drool over art and simply geek out!

In another bit of exciting news, Zaddick and dealer Terry Holtz are organizing the inaugural New York City Comic Art Expo on May 6th 2018, in Manhattan at the historic Pennsylvania Hotel. There will be over 50 tables of OA dealers, collectors and guests. For more information, please contact Zaddick Longenbach ( or Terry Holtz ( Their aim is to put on a quality, friendly, multi-generational regular gathering of original art collectors, dealers and artists in Manhattan. This Expo sounds like a brilliant initiative to celebrate and grow the OA hobby, and I’d love to attend if able!
